Mari's Restless Windy OFA CD TC CGC

"Windy's Nature"?

Windy was known for her gentle, patient nature. She was so much like her dam, Mariah=(Mari's Mariah v Kubistraum. She even mothered and played with a Flemish Giant - a rabbit named Thumper. They used to play tag throughout the house. And guess who was in the lead? You got it, Thumper ! He always led and she followed. Windy mothered every puppy born at Mari Shepherds, whether her own or another bitch's. She was the matron bitch for puppies. I believe Windy even thought the kitties were hers. In her elder years she became the "Couch Potato". She continued to play gramma to most puppies, just not for as long a time.

From her last litter, Windy produced Mr. Hoover = Can Ch Mari's Hoover OFA, TC, CGC, TDI. He is now the Ambassador for Mari Shepherds. He has followed in his mother's footsteps, winning hearts everywhere he goes. His incredible size, a mere 95 pounds and 27 inches at the shoulder, while being so laid back, makes him one in a million. His personality and nature are now coming through in his progeny, Annie = Mari's TiffAnnie Rose ALee OFA good, TC, CGC, TDI and Sam =Mari's Hoovin' N A Groovin' OFA excellent, CD (search and rescue certified).

In fact, at the Duluth Kennel Club show in 1996, Rambo escaped from his crate that was sitting outside of the Duluth Arena. He stood at the door waiting for someone to open it, because it was a very heavy door that he could not open by himself. I had gone through that very same door and he was looking for me! I was in the ring at the time showing another GSD and I heard someone say to me, "Kathy, is this your dog?" I almost fainted! Talk about Sully reincarnated... Rambo has such rich black and red markings that he just stands out above the crowd. You can always hear people say, "That must be another RULER pup." These traits and markings come through in Ruler's third generation too.

age 6 at the Kettle-Moraine KC dog show
in Waukesha, WI, in July 1991 under
Judge Lowell Davis (4points).

She won 2 Groups and 3 BOB's in

Mari's Longevity

In October 1994, at the age of nine-and-a-half years, Regency won two 4 point major, Best of Breeds (back-to-back shows) and a Herding group 2! In June 1995, at the young age of ten years, she won a Best of Breed and a Best of Opposite Sex in back-to-back shows again. In October 1995, now at the age of ten-and-a-half years, she won three Best of Breeds (all back-to-back) and a Herding Group 3 and Herding Group 4 None of the judges could believe how old she was. In June 1996, at the age of eleven years, she won another Best of Opposite Sex. In September 1995 we finally decided to put her in the Veterans competition class at the Wisconsin Specialty. There were three in her class and she took a first place. The judge's comment was, "She must be only seven years old." He almost fainted when I told him how old she really was. I handled Regency for her first 4 points and her last 4 points. The last four points were a major and finished her championship at age six. Her stride, at age 11 years, was a little shorter and she was completely deaf. While I showed her, Jan's wish (her owner) was, "May Regency never lose her attitude or miss a step!" She still had attitude at twelve-and-a-half years of age when we finally retired her.
